Association of Lithuanian Beef Cattle Breeders

It is an independent public organization founded to meet and implement common needs of the members. The Association collaborates with the National Service of Stockbreeding under the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Food and Veterinary Service, Chamber of Agriculture, educational institutions, municipalities, agricultural recycling companies and other Lithuanian and foreign public organizations.


Association Objectives

  • To represent and protect the interests of members of the Association
  • To unite and coordinate members’ activities on purchasing, developing and increasing productivity of beef cattle, using the gene pool of prime beef cattle
  • To prepare the programme of national beef cattle population development and to support its implementation in every possible way
  • To make proposals on programmes for cattle breeding
  • To consult on beef stockbreeding by organizing seminars and pedigree stock exhibitions
  • To make proposals on the issues of breeding accounting and productivity control,  productivity and breed quality assessment, breeding-ground and pedigree cattle  improvement and  allocations  for cattle breeding programme
  • To establish companies  under the legal procedures

 

The supreme governing body of the Association is General Meeting of Members. Otherwise the decisions are made by the Council under its ambit. The Council is run by the President, elected from the Council members. The operational activities of the Association are organized and implemented by the administration. The head of administration is the director. Now in association are 136 members.
